Odie's Obedience Dog Training of Minnesota

"The only Certified Pet Dog Trainer north of the Twin Cities metro area!"

Does your dog need professional dog training?

How does your dog greet your guests when they come to your home? Does your dog pull you by the leash as he runs you around the neighborhood? How many times do you have to repeat a command before your dog will listen to you, if he chooses to at all?

With Odie's Obedience Dog Training you can:

Learn how to get your dog to listen to you every time, the first time. Train your dog to sit politely while you greet your guests. Teach your dog how to take a walk with you, instead of taking you for a walk.

What training tools do you use with your dog?

Honey We're Killing the Kids!

Aired AUG 29TH AT 6:00PM on TLC. View Photos

In March 2007 Odie & I were filmed for a reality T.V. show called 'Honey We're Killing the Kids'. We were filmed for about an hour at GrandPaws Place, a boarding/daycare facility in Buffalo, MN. I talked with Heidi, the star of the show, about behavior analysis methods I use for dog training that she can use on her children.

Odie & I demonstrated three tricks for Heidi such as Odie picking up his toys on command, answering my cell phone when it rings, and how to handle tantruming kids.

The filming went great! The producer, director, and Heidi were all very impressed with the information Odie & I shared with them. Further information & pictures coming soon!

Dog Training Tip #1

Reward the Best Behaviors

To improve a behavior, only give rewards when your dog performs the behavior the best. For example, if you are practicing Come with your dog, only give a treat when your dog runs over to you quickly. Just give verbal and physical praise when your dog walks slowly over to you. In no time at all, your dog will be rushing over to you as fast as he can in order to receive the best reward possible.
